About The Lodge
We recognized that this wonderful site provided us an opportunity to create something very special—something that, ten years from now, we will still be very proud of. The architecture and interior design would be critical in achieving this. With that in mind, we retained Abbott Heys & Associates of Seattle and had several conceptual meetings with them to share our vision and discuss how best to accomplish our goals.
We wanted to create a lodge that would be warm and welcoming with timeless tasteful architecture and all the hospitality services and amenities that today’s discriminating guests appreciate. While always keeping an eye to high design concepts, we strive to find opportunities for touches of whimsy and drama, such as our massive hand-blown glass chandelier that adds both drama and dynamic light interplay, created for us by regional glass artist Andy Nichols. We look for opportunities to reuse or repurpose creatively, so when we discovered The Trestle Wood Reclamation Project, we knew we found a treasure. Beautiful Douglas Fir that was used for building trestles on the Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon was preserved by the ocean water for 187 years and has been beautifully restored and repurposed to create the stunningly beautiful, warm and welcoming entry for The Lodge at Columbia Point.
In addition to a stunningly handsome building, what we offer you is our unique brand of hospitality that doesn’t take itself too seriously and is never pretentious. Our hope is that you will discover a terrific new wine during your stay and that you make yourself comfortably at home here to conduct business, make new friends, or invite old friends to join you. The Lodge is the perfect place for celebrating anniversaries, birthdays and rites of passage. We have artfully designed packages to add to the celebration.
We hope to provide you a beautiful hub from which to enjoy your time in Tri-Cities. Coffee in hand, our decks are ideal for gathering your thoughts at the start of the day, and a great place to end the day with a glass of regional wine while taking in the breathtaking views. Our 12-foot wide verandas on the first floor are a great place to watch the world go by, snuggle in with a good book or challenge a partner to a game of Settlers of Catan, to say nothing of their potential for romance.
Apart from a level of hospitality and service that will set a new bar for you, we hope you will have time to discover some of the features of The Lodge that distinguish it. From our statement chandelier created by an area artisan, to our riverview pool and fireplace; the star-gazing firepit, the massage studio, and the surprising little touches that wouldn’t be a surprise if we told you about them – these are things that set The Lodge at Columbia Point apart from the rest.
